Planning for a new construction

Prior approval applications for agricultural land owners

Did you know if you own agricultural land you have permitted development rights to erect buildings on site that aid and benefit your agricultural business?

This all depends on how much agricultural land you or the business owns. Class A of the PD rights allows you to expand or create new agricultural buildings up to 1,500 sq m or 1,000 sq m if accommodating livestock or any plant or machinery arising from engineering operations.

There are some restrictions on what and where you can build so you must seek professional advice before submitting any prior approval notice.

The proximity of a class A trunk road, location to aerodromes and dwellings can put a spanner in the work but that’s what we’re here for!
