Single storey rear extensions
A single storey rear extension can add that valuable space your home needs.
Now there are a few rules you must adhere to when extending to the rear. Within your permitted development rights you can extend out to the rear 3.00m on a semi detached dwelling and 4.00m on a detached dwelling.
The maximum height within your PD rights is 4m and not higher than the ridge-line of the existing house.
You must also adhere to a maximum eaves height of 3m if within 2m of a boundary and not higher than the eaves of the existing dwelling. If this isn’t the right fit then perhaps a larger householder application would be more suitable?
Keep an eye out for more blogs describing the householder application process.
